ADA Wellness Survey - 2015

Young stressed woman

The Council on Dental Practice’s (CDP) Dental Wellness Advisory Committee (DWAC), in conjunction with the ADA Health Policy Institute, conducted a survey to study various conditions and stresses which may affect dentists today. The report covers many factors: medical conditions and addictions, workplace safety, effect of personal responsibilities on work, and effect of health on work.

The survey presented very interesting findings. The health and well-being of female dentists was disproportionally affected by work compared to that of male dentists. About half of dentists, both men and women, said that it would be difficult to seek professional help because they believe they should be able to solve their own problems.

The survey was mailed to 7,475 professionally active licensed dentists including those registered as general practitioners and specialists, ADA members and non-members in May 2015. The full 2015 ADA Wellness Survey including, methodology, an executive summary, and results can be downloaded now.
