The open, bright, and clean design creates a comfortable atmosphere for our patients and makes it a great place to work for my team.

"Every aspect of the office design provides efficiency. Our consultation room is close to the front desk. Our laboratory is close by the treatment area so that team members don’t have to go too far to adjust appliances. My orthodontic software is completely cloud-based, and I have trained the staff to use all cloud-based applications, thus, we are paperless."

Advice for designing a facility? "Visit as many practices as possible to see what flow works well and what doesn’t. Ask other dentists what they love and hate about their current design. Go outside the norm and consider a “non-dental” designer to have a more unique office."

Describe your practice philosophy and how it influenced your design?

Our goal is to be known in the community as the standard by which others will be compared.  We will continually dedicate ourselves to providing state of the art orthodontic care while catering to our patient’s specific needs in an efficient and effective manner. In order to make patients comfortable we wanted to create a modern, clean, and open atmosphere. The open, bright, and clean design creates a comfortable atmosphere for our patients and makes it a great place for the team to work.

Explain how you and your team approached the design of your office?

Every aspect of the office design provides efficiency. Our consultation room is close to the front desk. Our laboratory is near the treatment area so that team members don’t have to go too far to adjust appliances. Our orthodontic software is completely cloud-based, and the staff is trained to use all cloud-based applications, making us a paperless office. We have a photo booth that is a fun, interactive way for patients to express themselves by using props and taking selfies to post on Instagram and Facebook.

What advice do you have for designing a facility?

Visit as many practices as possible to see what flow works well and what doesn’t. Ask other dentists what they love and hate about their current design. Ask staff members what type of dental equipment they prefer and what they would want changed. Go outside the norm and consider a “non-dental” designer to create a more unique office. Hire a branding company to design your logo in black and white, then work with your designer to implement the office colors into your brand. Keep everything consistent.
