NIH Accepting Grant Applications in Neuroscience Research Training

NIH is currently accepting applications for the NIH Blueprint Diversity Specialized Predoctoral to Postdoctoral Advancement in Neuroscience (D-SPAN) Award. This award is open to graduate students who are from backgrounds that are nationally underrepresented in neuroscience research.

  • D-SPAN seeks to increase levels of participation of diverse trainees transitioning from graduate student to postdoctoral positions by providing a continuum of support
  • Apply during graduate school, transition award to postdoc
  • Dual Phase Funding: 1-2 yrs completing PhD Dissertation (F99) and up to 4 yrs support for postdoctoral training (K00) at any domestic (US) institution
  • Broad neuroscience research interests: NIH Blueprint mission-relevant and/or BRAIN Initiative research areas
  • Eligible trainees must be either be underrepresented by race/ethnicity or individuals with disabilities
